Wishlist Wednesday is a blog hop hosted by Pen to Paper. Each week, we'll post a book we've been dying to get our hands on, and share why we want to read it.
I want to read... Asylum by Madeleine Roux
For
sixteen-year-old Dan Crawford, New Hampshire College Prep is more than a
summer program—it's a lifeline. An outcast at his high school, Dan is
excited to finally make some friends in his last summer before college.
But when he arrives at the program, Dan learns that his dorm for the
summer used to be a sanatorium, more commonly known as an asylum. And
not just any asylum—a last resort for the criminally insane.
As
Dan and his new friends, Abby and Jordan, explore the hidden recesses of
their creepy summer home, they soon discover it's no coincidence that
the three of them ended up here. Because the asylum holds the key to a
terrifying past. And there are some secrets that refuse to stay buried.
Featuring found photos of unsettling history and real abandoned asylums and filled with chilling mystery and page-turning suspense, Madeleine Roux's teen debut, Asylum, is a horror story that treads the line between genius and insanity.

I don't know why, but I've been purchasing "horror" YA novels lately. I guess I just need a change of genre. I've been reading romance for more than a year now, and it's probably time I explored other genres. Also, it sounds interesting -- it's giving me Mara Dyer vibes, and I loved Mara Dyer, so I'm hoping this book will live up to my expectations!
What book/s are you looking forward to reading?
Ooh! Interesting. I've never read any "horror" YA, though I'm planning to read The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer. :) Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI've read the Mara Dyer series! It's one of my favorites. Excited for you to read it!
DeleteThanks for stopping by xo
This has a Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children vibe for me especially with the addition of the pictures. I'm more of a suspense girl myself. I love anything that sets me on the edge of my seat - Asylum will probably have me falling off! If you do end up reading this one day I would love to know what you think.
